"To illuminate the end of a wand, the caster must call out the incantation "Lumos." If correctly incanted, the end of the wand will then illuminate and cast light in the immediate vicinity of the caster. It can also be used to illuminate unseen entrances."
My favorite form of magic is lighting up the voices of underrecognized changemakers to open the doorways of opportunity and influence.
because we are the ones we've been waiting for
Like you, I fell in love with the roller coaster of making shift happen. Creating change in communities and fighting for justice + equity. Chipping away at the world’s most pressing problems by dreaming up visionary solutions. Not considering this “work” but rather, a deeper personal calling.
I also understand feeling stuck. The frustration of not knowing where to even begin. And buried even deeper, a piercing fear that you are “not enough” to make your big vision a reality.
For twelve years, I served as a marketer and fundraiser at a women's mental health nonprofit in OC, California. I realized “competition” is a myth. Our universe is abundant with donors, clients, ambassadors, and any type of audience you want to grow.
The real competitor is Noise. Distraction. A Chaotic World. The real challenge is obscurity and figuring out how to transform from a best kept secret to a household name.
The solution is thought leadership branding. Abundantly sharing your lived experience, passion, and expertise to build trust with the right audience on the right topic. Becoming crystal clear on your niche to provide value and solutions with radical empathy. Strategically growing your community and attracting the needed resources to turn your cause into a movement.
Those working closest to our world’s most pressing problems have the solutions; they're just not always at “the table”. Yet, those at the table still give permission for others to join.
Let’s dismantle the boardroom table and reimagine the ultimate space of leadership as a campfire circle. A place to gather in growing community. To share stories and spark new ideas. To huddle for warmth. To be lit up. Where there is always room.
I BELIEVE IN:
The power of intuition, short emails, long hugs, decolonizing our minds and bodies, and cutting out the 'meh' to make room for the very best.
YOU CAN FIND ME:
Joy riding up and down PCH, reading, napping, and catching up with my inspiring clients
daily rituals
Morning affirmations and mirror work, listening to my dog’s heartbeat as a form of meditation, an apple a day, HIIT classes, and 8+ hours of sleep (unless I fall asleep watching Attack on Titan).
Join me by the fire.
Stories break the illusion that we are separate. Isolated. Different. In reality, we are all connected … and stories serve as a connection point.
Before we had email sequences and LinkedIn posts and podcasts, stories have always been how we’ve passed on information from one person to another, one generation to another. Here’s mine …
I was born to a Bengali family of strong, proud, and powerful women - despite societal conditioning’s attempts otherwise. My last name, Bhattacharyya, means ‘spiritual teacher’ … my ancestral occupation.
After getting my Psychology degree, I worked for a mental health nonprofit in fundraising and marketing. I witnessed the life-changing power of storytelling in action, & helped newly sober women center resilience in their recovery narrative and advocate for themselves.
One of my first memories is gathering my family to clarify our family color, animal, and flag. I’ve always been interested in shaping meaning and belonging through branding (even before I knew what it was.)
Started Lumos Marketing to support other underrecognized changemakers in standing out as they stood up for their mission, driven by my own mosaic of lived experience, passion, and professional experience.
Now, I’ve supported 100+ impactful biz-owners in crafting their brand message, building community and creating top-of-mind trust, as they support people on parallel journeys to the ones they’ve gone through themselves
Became an executive director, and one of the only young + Brown women at the boardroom table. Wrestled imposter thoughts and perfectionism, before eventually befriending those parts.
